Adam Derman is dead. A couple of weeks ago he went to the doctor because he’d been having headaches, and they found out his whole body was riddled with cancer. It was too late to do anything. He was 23.

    Oh my god.

I’ve been reading through your journals and I feel like I can relate on a couple of levels. I loved the advice that the barber gave you, I think about the time we, as humans, have to live everyday (and I’m only 18).

I want to thank you for posting your journals, it’s really interesting reading about your experiences in developing/designing/producing games (you’re pretty much everything for this game).

My dream is to work in the video games industry as a programmer/designer and I’ve been working hard towards achieving that goal someday. Reading through your logs is very inspiring and very insightful.

I don’t even know why I’m telling you this. I never thought I would comment on one of these posts because it might just sound like I’m saying bullshit. I could go on but I think you get the picture.

Life’s short, enjoy what you do, bond with others and don’t be afraid to take a risk at trying something new.

    Thank you.

PS: I recently picked up Sands of Time from GoG.com and having played through it a bit, I’ve enjoyed it. I don’t know how much say you had in the game, but from what I’ve played so far, I like the game.
