Back in the 1980s, when I was making Karateka and Prince of Persia, there weren’t a lot of resources available to help an aspiring game developer learn the craft.

Now there’s the internet. This website is a way to share what I’ve learned about making video games, and a forum to invite other game developers to contribute.

Please send in your questions. Every few days, I’ll pick one and do my best to answer it, or pass it on to a colleague who can.

Some guidelines:

  • Please include your first name and location (e.g. Jordan from Chappaqua, New York).
  • The purpose of this site is to share information for everyone’s benefit. Please understand that I won’t be able to answer private emails, nor can I accept game ideas or pitches.
